The purpose of the Liberty Scholarship Fund is to significantly increase the educational opportunities available to children ages 5-18 by acquiring charitable donations and channeling those funds directly to families in New Hampshire for non-public education.
What is the Liberty Scholarship Fund?

History of the Liberty Scholarship Fund

Who We Are

  Our goal is to increase the non-public educational opportunities available to children ages 5-18 living in New Hampshire. The Liberty Scholarship Fund is a nonprofit organization founded to act as a direct channel for charitable donations to assist families in New Hampshire who choose to pursue non-public education.

Why Non-Public Education?

  There are many reasons why families choose to enroll their children in private school or to educate their children at home:
  • Ensure freedom to follow a certain educational or religious philosophy;
  • Accommodate a child's individual needs, desires, and abilities;
  • Enhance ability to travel or relocate often because of employment or military affiliation;
  • Increase flexibility and quality time as a family;
  • Cultivate a special talent a child wishes to pursue;
  • Take direct responsibility for their children's education;
  • Satisfy specific needs that can't be met in a traditional classroom;
  • And so on.

      The reasons for pursuing non-public education are as numerous as families are diverse.

    What is the Endowment Fund?

      An idea created by Brian Sullivan, the Endowment Fund is a permanent investment fund to ensure that the Liberty Scholarship Fund becomes stronger and more effective each year. Brian, our Director of the Endowment, is an experienced financial planning consultant.

      By default, 90% of all General Fund donations go to the Scholarship Fund and 10% to the Endowment Fund. Donors are allowed to specify which Fund any portion of their donations will be distributed to if desired.

      The Endowment Fund is in its early stages of growth. As the Endowment Fund grows, the Board will consider drawing on the Fund's investment income to help fund scholarships.
